UNDERSTAND THE RISK, KNOW THE SOLUTION

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some of the questions about insurance that we are often asked. If you have a question, which isn’t listed here, we’d be happy to answer it for you. Simply call us, or send an enquiry.

Why use an insurance broker?

Insurance brokers are trained professionals with an extensive knowledge of insurance and risk management. We act on behalf of our clients and provide advice with your best interests in mind. We provide a central contact point, rather than speaking with someone different every time you want to talk about your insurance or make a claim.

What insurance policies do I need?

The cover provided under different insurers policies can vary just as the needs of each individual or business can vary. It is our role to understand your needs and recommend the most appropriate insurances and polices to meet your needs.

What is a Financial Services Guide (FSG)?

The purpose of this FSG is to provide you with key information about us and the services we can provide to you. It is designed to assist you in your decision on whether to use any of our services described here, including purchasing general insurance through us. This FSG contains important information about:

  • how we are paid for the services;
  • any associations or relationships that could influence the services we provide to you; and
  • the dispute resolution procedures available to you and how you can access them.

What is a Letter of Appointment?

If you are not fully satisfied with your existing broker or insurance arrangements and would like us to commence advising you and acting on your behalf then a “letter of appointment” would need to be signed and provided to us to enable us to act on your behalf.

If you are already a client of Insurance Placement Solutions, but you have not consolidated all of your insurances with us but would like to, then printing off and signing a “letter of appointment” will allow us to start managing all insurances that you would like us to.

What is Premium Funding?

Premium funding can be arranged to assist businesses with smoothing the payment of an annual premium over either 10 or 12 monthly payment instalments. This option would only be required if an insurer didn’t offer a monthly premium payment option.

Do all policies offer flood cover or why is it important to have flood cover?

There are a number of “direct insurers” that do not provide the option of “flood cover”. This leave customers exposed in the event of a flood impacting their assets, including cars, homes and investment properties. By consulting with us we can advise you on a policy suited to your needs.
